Anonymous asked: There's been a hole in my life for a long, long, time. I don't know what I'm seeking, but I'm definitely seeking something. How do I find what I need to fill it?
Please don't think this is a sex joke. It's not.
Dear Hollow Pursuit,
What are holes? How do they get there. Some holes are hidden, and fall out from under us. Some holes are dug over the years, waiting for us to lay in them. And some holes are inescapable singularities of gravity from which nothing can escape.
However they are formed, they are voids into which things fall, and are hard to escape from. In life, all meaning and purpose can disappear into them, and no matter what we try to do to fill them, they never seem to fill.
And that is the trouble with holes, and what i suggest you do to fill them, is to build within them. The desire for self-satisfaction can motivate us to better ourselves, to find love, to get a better job, to start a family, and like an innumerable amount of atoms gathering together in the virtually complete emptiness of space, where once there was nothing, begins to shine as a bright star.
Do not stop seeking, no one knows what we’re looking for, but hopefully, when we are wrinkly raisins, we are found. One little point of something, in the fascinating hole of nothing that is our complete universe.
